Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President of Application Development, this individual will complete the roll-out of Jira project management software and then will oversee the ongoing use within the company. He or she will manage the development of project plans, tracking and communication for those plans on all related engineering and operations projects. It will be essential to work with product, engineering, as well as with data analytics, operations, marketing and outside vendors to ensure projects are coordinated across these teams. This individual will also oversee the Quality Assurance and testing of new software for 13 portals and backend systems.
Responsibilities
• Manage planning and results tracking/reporting.
• Run daily/weekly status meetings.
• Manage ticket triage process.
• Schedule & oversee design and/or code reviews as needed.
• Work closely with release engineering, development and QA teams to help define and coordinate the release process for engineering projects.
• Define and coordinate processes for the marketing, customer care, and publishing teams to make change requests.
• Provide accurate and timely updates to management and impacted cross-functional departments.
• Work with project management to analyze workflow bottlenecks and streamline processes through establishing policies and procedures and system enhancements, as needed.
Skill Sets and Requirements
• 3-5 years of relative project management experience (preferably in web and/or software development environments).
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be adaptable and comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Project, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Word and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to work with engineering tools, bug systems and ticketing systems
• Ability to be a positive change agent within the product team, as well as across the organization.
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Preferred Skills Sets
• Experience with Jira Project Management Software
• Familiarity and basic coding experience with PHP, MySQL
• LAMP development experience
• Internet or web industry experience.
